When must your restaurant switch?

SCE 2.0 is the new registered cash register system for horeca. Your date depends on when you bought your last cash register. The FDM box does not count.

At the counter, at the table, in the kitchen

Screens shown in Chinese. Each person picks their own screen language.

Ordering by dish code: the letter B is typed and the dishes B1 to B6 are listed next to a number pad.

Order by dish code

Many kitchens work with dish numbers. Type A12, or 2*A12 for two portions. Type B and the screen lists every dish that starts with B. Staff who prefer to tap the dish name can do that too.

Floor plan: table 3 is in use and shows its amount, the other tables are free.

Your dining room on the screen

Place your tables in areas: main room, terrace, upstairs. Each table shows if it is free, has guests, has its bill printed, or has waited too long. You decide what too long means; it starts at two hours. Move a whole table, or split the bill by dish.

Table 3: dishes already sent to the kitchen, new dishes not sent yet, and the Send button.
Kitchen ticket, simplified example.

Kitchen and bar each get their ticket

Dishes go to the kitchen printer, drinks to the bar printer. The ticket shows the dish code and the name in Chinese, in French, or both. No prices on it.

The menu settings: a dish with its code, receipt name, screen name and the choice dine-in only, take-away only or both.

Dine-in, take-away, or both

Each dish is on the dine-in menu, the take-away menu, or both. Switch an order to take-away and every line takes the take-away VAT rate.

The rest of the day

  • Receipt on the guest's phone

The guest scans a QR code on the screen and gets the receipt as a PDF. The file is encrypted and deleted after 30 days. A paper receipt is always possible.

  • Backup without a USB stick

After each day closing and every hour. The data is encrypted on the terminal before it leaves the restaurant. At installation you get a printed recovery sheet; with it, a new terminal can read your old data.

  • One PIN per person

Everyone logs in with their own PIN and clocks in and out on the terminal. A refund or a free dish needs a manager's PIN.

  • No internet, still selling

As long as the FDM box works, you keep selling. The FDM keeps the data and sends it to the SPF Finances when the internet is back. Digital receipts need the internet; paper receipts do not.

Also: refunds, discounts, set menus, weighed dishes, open prices, split payment, cash, Bancontact, cards and meal vouchers, cash in and out, X and Z reports, training mode.

What we install

We bring the hardware, connect it, load your menu and show your team how it works.

From the first e-mail to the first ticket

  1. You write to us

How many tables, take-away or not, and how the kitchen gets its orders today.

  2. We show it to you

At your restaurant, with dishes like yours.

  3. Your menu goes in

Send us your menu as a spreadsheet. We load it with codes, Chinese names and VAT rates.

  4. Installation day

We install the hardware, make a test sale with the FDM and train your team. After that, write to us when something is not clear.

Questions we get

Where is my data?
On the terminal in your restaurant. The SCE rules say the restaurant keeps its data. A backup copy is made automatically, encrypted on the terminal before it is sent.
What is an FDM?
A small box that SCE 2.0 requires, on your restaurant network. The cash register sends it every ticket; the FDM signs it and passes the data on to the SPF Finances. It is part of what we install.
Which languages?
Screens: Chinese, French, Dutch and English, chosen per person. Receipts: French, Dutch or German, according to your region.
Can you load my current menu?
Yes. Put it in a spreadsheet (CSV; Excel can save it in that format) and we load it in one step.
Can waiters order on a handheld?
Not in the first version: one terminal at the counter per restaurant. Handhelds at the table come in a later update.
Is the card terminal connected?
Not in the first version. For Bancontact or a card you type the amount on your payment terminal; Cachet POS records which card was used.
Where is the SPF certification?
Cachet POS is built for the SCE 2.0 rules. The certification by the SPF Finances is in preparation. Write to us for the latest news.
